Qatar 2022 legacy programme is delivering all of its classes online

The Josoor Institute is continuing to serve delegates – along with the wider community – despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With the vast majority of people currently working from home, the Qatar 2022 legacy programme has moved quickly to ensure all of its classes are delivered online for the time being.

That’s good news for professional diploma programme delegates, along with people who are keen to learn more about the sports and events industries. Delegates are continuing to learn from global experts thanks to online courses, while others will soon have the chance to access the programme’s vast knowledge hub, including education and training materials, via its website: www.josoorinstitute.qa.

Josoor Institute’s management implemented business continuity solutions after Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education suspended attendance at schools and universities in March. This meant that the second block of classes for Josoor Institute’s flagship professional diploma programmes in sports and major events management needed to move online in order to cater for 91 delegates.

Commenting on the continuation of the programmes, Afraa Al Noaimi, Executive Director of Josoor Institute, said: “We have a shared responsibility to ensure that we fulfil our education mission while protecting the health and safety of our delegates and instructors. To that end, we worked closely with our academic partner, SDA Bocconi, in order to continue delivering our professional diploma programmes remotely using online instruction. I’m delighted to report that engagement and feedback were excellent – we are proud of being able to continue our work during these testing times.”

Josoor Institute’s year-long professional diploma programmes target professionals and those hoping to pursue careers in the sports and events management fields. Industry leading expert trainers present a well-rounded programme that combines theory and practice, plus a variety of learning tools, such as group work, in-class discussion and case studies, along with insights from high-profile international and regional guest speakers.

The flagship programmes build on Josoor Institute’s continuous efforts to equip industry professionals with specialist knowledge and the skills required for every facet of world class event production in Qatar and the wider MENA region. It supports the delivery of Qatar 2022 and ensures the knowledge gained from hosting the FIFA World Cup™ is passed to the next generation.

Al Noaimi went on to say the Josoor Institute also wanted to support the wider community during the pandemic.

“In addition to supporting our delegates and speakers, we also wanted to reach out to the wider audience – both in Qatar and around the world. That is why we are assembling an array of education and training materials, along with case studies and research projects, and making them available to anyone who has an interest in sports and events management. We look forward to sharing more details about this in the near future.”
